Experience
- Polly D. Heseman was educated at Southern Illinois University and Southern Illinois University School of Law where she received numerous academic scholarships and awards including the Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Award presented to her by the Governor of Illinois and the Illinois Women's Bar Association Scholarship presented to her by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. While attending law school, Ms. Heseman was a published article writer and editor for the Journal of Legal Medicine and Editor-in-Chief of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal. Prior to moving to Florida, Ms. Heseman was with the St. Louis office of Bryan Cave LLP. Ms. Heseman moved to Florida in 2000 and joined the Fort Lauderdale office of Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A. Her extensive legal practice has included litigating patent, trademark and copyright claims, practicing before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, drafting and negotiating general corporate and commercial transactions including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, drafting and negotiating licenses for patent, trademark, domain name, copyright and software rights, arbitrating domain name disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization and counseling on numerous employment issues.
