Experience
Over a period of twenty two years he served as claims manager, then managing attorney of the full service law department of Florida Power & Light Company.
During his early employment at FPL, Mr. Ahrens was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers from 1952-62.
Mr. Ahrens has had extensive experience in: investigating, evaluating and settling tort claims and lawsuits; drafting and negotiating municipal ordinances; drafting and negotiating general contracts and indemnity agreements; lobbying legislative proposals in the state legislature; and managing and handling numerous environmental cases, including major Superfund sites in Florida.
